Project Dol Dol
About Dol Dol
Dol Dol is a small arid rural settlement located in Kenya’s Laikipia County some 160 miles (250 km) from Nairobi with a population of approximately 20,000. Local residents lack formal employment and primarily engaged in pastoralism. Unemployment rate is high and families face challenges related to poverty and limited economic opportunities.
Electricity access is limited, and almost entire population rely on kerosene lamps for lighting after dark.
Project Dol Dol
Illuminate Horizons Project Dol Dol is our pilot project. The project seeks to provide this underserved community with solar lamps, The ongoing pilot project provides over 720 hours of light per day enabling students to extend their study hours, and provides families with cleaner source of lighting
